What will I learn?
Our Level 3 Diploma in Maritime Studies is a Marine Engineering Pre-Cadetship, run in association with Viking Recruitment, one of the UK’s premier marine recruitment agencies.
Our programme will provide the knowledge and skills required to be successful in securing a full cadetship. You will develop a variety of skills through work placements, classroom learning and practical sessions.
Your learning will be split between technical studies at East Kent College, professional industry training with Viking Recruitment and work placements in the maritime industry.
With the support of Engineering tutors and Viking Recruitment you will be encouraged to develop excellent interpersonal and communication skills, all of which will help you secure a cadetship or enter into employment within the maritime industry.
What qualifications do I need?
You will need to have achieved or predicted GCSE grades of 5 A–C, which will include English and a B grade in maths.
How to do I apply?
To book a place at our Interview and Assessment Day please complete the short form below and a member of the Engineering team will call you back.
The Interview and Assessment day will take place on Monday 4th July and Tuesday 5th July. Both days will start at 10am and finish at 4pm and you will need to attend both days to secure a place on the course.
Part of the day will involve an interview with the course tutor and you need to undertake an assessment. You will also get a hands-on taste of the course in our state-of-the-art Centre for Engineering.
